Types of Dyslexia

Dysphonesia (Auditory)

  • Occurs as a result of low phonological awareness.
  • Find it difficult in understanding and arranging sounds.
  • Find it difficult interpreting or retrieving sounds.
  • The effect of this in misspellings, use wrong term of similar words, or deleting syllables shows difficulty in understanding quick speech.

Dyseidesia (Visual)

  • Difficulty in recognizing the word as a whole and linking it to its sound corresponding
  • Affects the understanding of information .
  • This affects writing, reading and copying, it may see the letters inverted d b-n u- Or numbers 6-9 and so on.

Dysnemkinesia (kinesthetic)

  • Motor memory to form letters in the correct direction .
  • Causing many problems in handwriting (illegible writing).
  • Affects directions in general .
